Liviri Solutions Change the Face of Food and Wine Delivery

Liviri Solutions Change the Face of Food and Wine DeliveryAndrew Norton, Director of Business Development, Liviri

Online ordering for pickup and delivery of goods has experienced massive growth throughout 2020. We don’t have to imagine it, we are all living it– ordering groceries, take-out, wine, and meal kits to our doors through no-contact delivery services.

Liviri offers a family of reusable, thermally protective containers that provide durable, sustainable, and reliable transport solutions for everything from shipping frozen meats store-to-door, staging chilled groceries for pickup, and sending fine wine in any season.

Navigating COVID

Due to COVID, consumer adoption of online ordering has seen dramatic increases. This increase in pickup and delivery orders has brought to light a number of hurdles organizations have to overcome. Organizations that have the ability to control the pickup and delivery experience, rather than using a delivery service, and who communicate effectively have shown to provide an experience that leaves consumers coming back for future orders. Brian Jacoby, Senior VP Global Business Development for Liviri, explains that changing consumer buying habits through COVID have accelerated supply chain strategies like sanitization and delivery logistics.

“The organizations with the biggest focus on efficient and repeatable processes will win. At Liviri, we approach each of these challenges from a consultative mindset,” said Jacoby. “We never want to assume we know or immediately know the solution a company should deploy. We work with you to drive towards a solution that not only is sustainable but becomes part of your business model. The solutions we bring to thermally protect the contents of the box have even further reaching benefits around a sustainable marketing message and a better customer experience all which drive increased customer retention and satisfaction.”

Grocery Solutions

In the grocery space, exploding online demand requires extra space for picking and staging pickup and delivery orders in grocer’s already crowded stores. Many grocers are adding micro-fulfillment centers to their arsenal to ease the burden of fulfilling and delivering e-commerce orders out of their already taxed stores.

Liviri is here to increase the efficiency of online grocery pickup and delivery.

“Grocers were forced into the online grocery space quickly three years ago in order to not lose market share to Amazon and Whole Foods,” said Jacoby. “They were challenged to be profitable picking and delivering out of existing stores designed for consumer shopping and consumers paid for this in terms of poor experience shopping in store with picking carts and high extra fees for online orders.

Micro-fulfillment centers allow grocers to achieve the operational efficiencies they need to profitably compete in the online space which benefits both the grocer and the end consumer.”

Liviri Sprintinsulated last-mile staging, and delivery totes give grocers and micro-fulfillment centers more flexible, sustainable options for extending the cold chain without purchasing additional staging refrigerators or using refrigerated trucks. Liviri is continually working to evolve and improve the product to have it better meet customer needs. One of the latest projects that Liviri is working on is developing more space-efficient insulated Sprinttotes for the microfulfillment center, grocery, and last-mile pickup and delivery space.

“As online grocery ordering explodes due to social distancing, grocers are looking to expand their grocery pickup and delivery capacity using passive cooling and insulated tote solutions,” said Jacoby. “We are working on ways that grocers can store these totes more efficiently when not in use or the totes are being returned to the stores in delivery vans.”

Can a Box Make a Difference?

Liviri started with a familiar blueprint: four sides, a bottom, and a top. But they took those standard elements and reconfigured them for better business, for better thermal protection and for a better sustainability solution. Why? Because for all of us, the box is more than a one-and-done conclusion. Instead, it’s a vessel for forward propulsion — and a reason for thinking, seeing, and doing differently
